PRIVACY POLICY FOR WWW.HACKATHONFORCHANGE.COM WEBSITE

I. PRELIMINARY PROVISIONS

This document constitutes the Privacy Policy of the Foundation “Samodzielność od Kuchni” (hereinafter referred to as the Foundation), drawn up in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations of the website, available at: www.hackathonforchange.com
. Each User of the website www.hackathonforchange.com is bound by the current Privacy Policy located on the indicated page.
The administrator of the personal data is the Foundation (the “Independence from the Kitchen” Foundation with its registered office in Warsaw, 15 Rejtana Street b, 02-516), which processes personal data in accordance with the Act of August 29, 1997 on the protection of personal data, the Act of July 18, 2002 on the provision of electronic services and the Act of July 12, 2024, the Law of Electronic Communications.

II. TYPE OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTED BY THE FOUNDATION

When the User visits the Hackathon website, technical data about the User’s visit is automatically collected, e.g. IP address, domain name, type of browser the User uses, type of operating system, etc.
When the User contacts us via website, phone, email, etc., he/she provides us with his/her personal information, such as name, surname, email address, etc.

The www.hackathonforchange.com website may also use cookies, which are used to identify the User’s browser when using this website. By remaining on this site, the User simultaneously consents to the use of cookies. If the User does not want cookies to be stored on his/her computer, he/she should adjust the settings of his/her browser accordingly (for more information on cookies, see Section IV below).

Cookies do not allow the collection of any personal or address data of the user, they are not harmful either to the computer or to the data of its user, so it is recommended not to disable them in the browser. III. METHOD OF DATA USE

All data processed by the Foundation is secured in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act of August 29, 1997. Personal data will be used by the Foundation solely for the purpose of performing the contract for the provision of electronic services in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act and the Electronic Services Act. When the user consents, the collected data will also be used for marketing purposes, market research and the behavior and preferences of Service Users.

The technical data is collected for the purpose of analyzing the behavior of users accessing the www.hackathonforchange.com website to collect demographic data, as well as for the purpose of conducting viewing statistics of our website or to personalize its content.
The Foundation is the sole disposer of the personal data provided by the User. Personal data will not be sold or shared with other third parties, including, most importantly, will not be transferred outside the European Economic Area.

IV. CHANGES TO PERSONAL DATA

Each User has the right to access his/her personal data, as well as to restrict, update, correct, delete, supplement and amend them by directly informing the Foundation of the change of personal data, in particular by telephone, letter or e-mail.

Provision of personal data is voluntary. In case of failure to provide or deletion of personal data, the Foundation reserves the right to refuse to provide electronic services.
The User may contact the Foundation at any time if he/she does not want to receive further marketing information, related to organized promotional actions, informing about the Foundation’s actions or current activities, or requests to support the Foundation’s activities. The User’s statement will result in the Foundation not contacting the User in the scope indicated by the User. In such a case, the User’s personal data will remain in the Foundation’s database and will be processed only for the purposes specified by the User.
The User may request the complete deletion of the personal data provided by him/her, and the Foundation then undertakes to permanently delete the data, provided that there are no other legal grounds for further processing of the personal data (e.g. legal obligation to store the data, investigation or defense of claims). Once the User’s data is deleted from the Foundation’s database, the Foundation will not be able to contact the User or send the User any information related to the Foundation’s activities.

V. COOKIES POLICY

The Website does not automatically collect any information, except for the information contained in cookies.
Cookies (so-called “cookies”) are IT data, in particular text files, which are stored in the Service User’s terminal equipment and are intended for use on the Website. Cookies usually contain the name of the website they come from, the time they are stored on the terminal equipment and a unique number.
The entity placing cookies on the Service User’s terminal equipment and accessing them is the Service operator “Independence from the Kitchen” Foundation.
Cookies are used in order to:
a) adapting the content of the Website to the User’s preferences and optimizing the use of the websites; in particular, these files allow for recognition of the Website User’s device and appropriate display of the website, adjusted to his individual needs;
b) creation of statistics that help to understand how the Users of the Website use the websites, which makes it possible to improve their structure and content;
The Website uses two basic types of cookies: “session” cookies and “permanent” cookies (persistent cookies). “Session” cookies are temporary files that are stored on the User’s terminal equipment until the User logs out, leaves the website or shuts down the software (web browser). “Permanent” cookies are stored on the User’s end device for the time specified in the parameters of the cookies or until they are deleted by the User.
The following types of cookies are used within the Service:
(a) “necessary” cookies, enabling the use of services available within the Service, such as authentication cookies used for services requiring authentication within the Service;
(b) “performance” (optional) cookies, making it possible to collect information on how the Website’s pages are used;
c) “functional” (optional) cookies, enabling “remembering” the User’s selected settings and personalizing the User’s interface, e.g. with regard to the selected language or region of the User’s origin, font size, web page layout, etc;

Optional cookies are processed solely on the basis of the User’s consent, which the User may withdraw at any time without affecting the legality of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

The Operator of the Website informs that restrictions on the use of cookies may affect some functionalities available on the Website.

VI. COMPLAINTS

The User has the right to lodge a complaint regarding issues regulated by this Privacy Policy.
Complaints may be submitted in writing, by registered mail to the Foundation’s address: 15 Rejtana Street, premises B, 02-516 Warsaw, or by e-mail to: biuro@sokfoundation.org.pl
. A properly lodged complaint should include at least the name and surname, mailing address, as well as the content and basis of the complaint. Providing the above data is the basis for processing the complaint. Complaints that do not meet the above requirement will not be considered.
Complaints will be considered within 14 days of their receipt by the Foundation.

VII. FINAL PROVISIONS

The Foundation reserves the right to unilaterally make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes become effective on the date they are published within www.hackathonforchange.com

In matters not regulated in this privacy policy, the provisions of the Regulations and the provisions of generally applicable laws shall apply, including the provisions of the Act of August 29, 1997 on the protection of personal data, the Act of July 18, 2002 on the provision of electronic services and the Act of July 12, 2024, the Law of Electronic Communications.
